![]() The original Pepperdine Fight Song was written in 1946 by Pepperdine alumnus Chuck Baber. After decades without a fight song, Pepperdine University decided to have a contest for someone to write a new fight song. In 1979, Marc McGee, who worked for Pepperdine Student Recruitment and Admissions at the time, won the contest by writing "Fight for Pepperdine." With the help of Eric Iverson, who worked in the Music Department and helped arrange the song, Pepperdine had a new fight song. In 2008, UCLA's Jay Dillon rearranged "Fight for Pepperdine" into it's current form.
