MALIBU, Calif. – With a commanding .347 hitting percentage, the Pepperdine women’s volleyball team shut out Gonzaga, 3-0 on Senior Day. Lone senior Victoria Adelhelm delivered eight kills and two blocks to help lead the Waves to victory.

“Our last conference home game is always bittersweet,” commented head coach Nina Matthies after the match. “It's really tough letting your kids go and you never want them to leave. Victoria has done so much for this program. She's been such a solid player in the middle and really epitomizes Pepperdine volleyball. We are really going to miss her indoors, but look forward to her have a great sand volleyball season.”

Jazmine Orozco (Lakewood, Calif./Lakewood HS/Illinois) paced the Waves with 11 kills and 13 digs. Katie Messing (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands HS) followed with 10 kills.

Overall, Pepperdine hit .347 (49-14-101) to maintain the offensive control and limited Gonzaga to just a .132 (32-18-106) success rate on the attack.

Kellie Woolever (Long Beach, Calif./Woodrow Wilson HS) distributed 40 assists in the match, and picked up 11 digs to help the defensive end.

Messing gave the offense a boost with six kills in the first, while Orozco carried the defense with nine digs.

Gonzaga controlled of the lead in the second set from nearly start to finish.
