Pepperdine's Bianca Dulgheru Earns Selection Into All-American Tennis Championships

Malibu, Calif. - Pepperdine sophomore Bianca Dulgheru earned selection into the main draw of the 2005 Riviera/Intercollegiate (ITA) Women's All-American Championships that will be hosted by the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California, October 1-9.

The premier hard court event of the fall collegiate season, the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships feature the top players in NCAA Division I tennis.

The main draw, which takes place October 6-9, is preceded by two sets of qualifying tournaments.

The 64-player, 32 doubles team pre-qualifying tournament is Oct. 1-2 at UCLA and four players and doubles teams will advance from there to the player qualifying tournament at Riviera (where eight players and four doubles teams will advance to the main draw) on Oct. 4-5.

Senior Caroline Raba will take part in the qualifying singles tournament while senior Natalie Braverman and sophomore Sylvia Kosakowski will compete in the pre-qualifying singles.

Additionally, Raba and Kosakowski earned a spot in qualifying doubles while Dulgheru and Eva Dickes are on the alternate list. Dickes and sophomore Jelena Jovic are also on the singles pre-qualifying singles alternate list.

Dulgheru enters the 2005-06 campaign No. 18 in the ITA's preseason rankings while Raba is No. 39.
