WACO, Texas - The #46 Pepperdine women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss to #18 Baylor on Sunday afternoon. Despite the loss, Khunpak Issara scored a point for the Waves to tally her team-best fourth singles win of the dual season.

The Bears posted wins from the No. 1 and No. 3 spots in the doubles lineup to take a 1-0 lead into singles.

Lorraine Guillermo (Walnut, Calif./Rowland HS) suffered a 6-2, 6-2 loss to #13-ranked Ema Burgic from the top spot in the lineup, while Maria Biryukova gave Baylor a 3-0 advantage following a straight-set victory from the No. 6 spot.

Issara (Bangkok, Thailand/Bangkok Patana School) put the Waves on the board, defeating #86 Megan Horter 6-1, 7-5 (5). Issara, currently #43 in the singles poll, is 2-1 when facing ranked opponents in 2013 and previous defeated then-#2 Krista Hardebeck of Stanford in three sets on Feb. 9.

Although Megan Moore (Portland, Ore./Jesuit HS) claimed the first set 6-3, Alex Leatu won the subsequent frames to put point No. 4 on the board for Baylor.

Ale Granillo (Pachuca, Mexico/Instituto Hidalgo) and Michaela Capannolo (Hawthorn, Australia/Genazzano FCJ College) both lost in closely fought three-set battles.

Pepperdine pays a visit to Arizona State on Feb. 23 before returning home on Feb. 28 to host UCLA.
