MALIBU, Calif. - Pepperdine's women's swimming and diving team plays host to the Malibu Invitational this Saturday at Raleigh Runnels Pool. The all-day event is divided into three sessions and will feature 20 men's and women's teams representing 11 schools.

The sprint meet begins at 9:30 a.m., diving starts at noon, and the distance meet commences at 2 p.m.

Participating schools include Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cal State Northridge, Concordia University-Irvine, California Lutheran, Cal Baptist, Azusa Pacific, LaVerne, Loyola Marymount (women), Soka and Biola University.

Swimmers may compete in an unlimited number of events; however, no team scores will be kept. Individual high-point totals will be tracked for each school (one for men, one for women), which will receive points based on a standard 9-4-3-2-1 place scoring system.

There is one non-scoring relay - a 6x50 freestyle relay - listed on the schedule of events, and teams may enter as many relays as desired.

Pepperdine is coming off a runner-up finish two weekends ago at the PCSC Pentathlon, which included a meet-record 14 teams. The Waves posted eight personal best times in addition to three meet records, placed second in three of the individual pentathlons, and their divers claimed four of the five top positions led by junior Tiffany Martz' (Folsom, Calif./Folsom HS) winning score.

The sprint meet portion of the Malibu Invitational will be live streamed over the World Wide Web via Wave Casts at Click on the Wave Casts link atop the home page for more information on how to sign up.
