McLeod Wins 200 IM at PCSCs
MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine women's swimming and diving team concluded the second day of competition at the Pacific Coast Swimming Conference (PCSC) Championships and moved to third place with 344 points. After the opening day, the Waves led all teams with 196 points.
The second day was highlighted by Alison McLeod's first-place finish in the 200 IM as the senior swam a 2:06.54. Sophomore Haley Wilson was right behind placing third in a time of 2:08.83. McLeod was two one-hundredths off of breaking her own school record, which she set in the fall.
Freshman Danielle Kimmel led the Waves in the 50 free, placing eighth in a time of 24.59. Pepperdine's 200 meter relay team of Danielle Kimmel, Michelle Fadley, Amy Nightingale and McLeod placed seventh in a time of 1:38.49.
Junior Kady Skora led the Waves in the 500 free, placing 14th with a time of 5:13.51, while junior Loriann Mark clocked a 5:14.18 for a Top 20 place. Brianna Blanchard placed 23rd with a time of 5:19.76.
Pepperdine continues action on Friday at the Belmont Plaza in Long Beach, Calif.
