LA MIRADA, Calif. – The Pepperdine women’s swimming and diving team continues to clock in season and personal best performances at the Pacific Collegiate Swim & Dive Conference Championships. The Waves sit in fourth place with one day left of competition.
“Everyone was on fire this morning during the prelims and it was awesome to have so many swimmers on the team make it back to the finals,” said freshman swimmer Ginger Jacobsen (Rockville Centre, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial HS). “I could feel the excitement and energy of everyone cheering while I was swimming tonight, and I think that's why the team posted so many good times.”
Madison Krall (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo Centennial HS) picked up All-PCSC honors in the 400 IM. Pepperdine’s lone senior swimmer finished the prelims in seventh place behind a season-best time of 4:41.80 before maintaining her seventh-place standing in the finals with a time of 4:42.04.
Jacobsen also made the finals and saved her best performance for last, clocking a 5:10.70 to finish in the top-20.
In the 100 butterfly, Shannon Adkins (Granite Bay, Calif./Granite Bay HS) broke the 1-minute barrier for the first time in the event, recording a personal-record time of 59.68 in the finals to place ninth overall.
