Pepperdine And UCLA Meet In Second Round Of NCAA Tournament On Sunday

The Pepperdine women's soccer team will seek its second straight NCAA Tournament "Sweet 16" appearance when it travels to Drake Stadium to face host and No. 4 seed UCLA in a second round match on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. The winner of today's Waves-Bruins contest will face either Kansas and Missouri in the third round next week.

The Waves advanced to second-round action with a 1-0 victory over USC Friday night at Drake Stadium. UCLA defeated San Diego, 2-0, in an opening round contest on Friday.
Pepperdine and UCLA are meeting for the second time this season. The two teams squared off at Tari Frahm Rokus Field in Malibu and the Bruins posted a 2-0 victory over the Waves.
Sunday's contest also marks the second time in the last three years that Pepperdine and UCLA have faced each other in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins registered a 2-1 victory at Drake Stadium in 2001.
