Freshman forward Jennifer Brewer's goal late in the first half proved to be the only score of the match and lifted the No. 21 Pepperdine women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over San Francisco in both team's regular-season finale Saturday afternoon at Negoesco Stadium.

The Waves concluded the regular season with a 13-5-1 overall record and a 3-3-1 mark in West Coast Conference (WCC) play, while San Francisco ended its year with a 5-14-0 overall record and a 1-6-0 mark in conference action.

Pepperdine will now direct its focus to Monday when seedings for the 64-team NCAA Tournament will be announced. The announcement will be carried live on ESPNNEWS beginning at 12:30 p.m. The Waves are expected to receive an at-large bid into the tournament.

Bewer broke a scoreless tie at the 40:37 mark when she received a pass from senior Lacey Ubaldi inside the box and beat San Francisco goalkeeper Jennifer Orantes. It marked Brewer's eighth goal of the season, while Ubaldi recorded her team-leading seventh assist of the year and increased her team-leading point total to 25.

The contest was a defensive struggle as Pepperdine held a 5-4 advantage in shots.
