Megan Woods Named WCC Player of the Week

Malibu, Calif. - Senior forward Megan Woods, who led the Pepperdine women's soccer team to a pair of victories over Top 30 teams this past weekend, was named the West Coast Conference's (WCC) "Player of the Week," the conference announced on Monday.
The Waves' senior totaled six points as she was directly involved four of Pepperdine's five goals, scoring two goals and assisting on two others.
In Friday's season-opener against No. 28 Central Florida, Woods tallied the Waves' first goal of the season and assisted on the game-winner as Pepperdine posted a 2-1 victory. She followed that performance with the game-winning goal and assisted on the clinching score in the Waves' 3-1 come-from-behind victory over No. 18 Arizona
Woods also moved into sixth place on the school's all-time points list (57), tied for fifth in goals (21) and seventh in assists (15).
In marked the second time in her career that Woods has received WCC "Player of the Week" honors. She previously earned the honor as a freshman in 2002.
