Jennifer Brewer, a standout player during one of the best eras in the history of Pepperdine women's soccer, is beginning her fifth season as an assistant coach for the Waves in 2012. The Waves have posted a 44-24-12 (.625) record the past four seasons, including a WCC title in 2011 and an NCAA Tournament appearance for the first time since 2006. Brewer played for the Waves from 2003-06 and appeared on three NCAA Tournament teams, including the Waves' squad in 2005 that reached the Sweet 16. As a starting forward and a team captain, she had career totals of 13 goals and three assists for 29 points. She is featured in the Waves' record books, as Brewer left the program tied for eighth all-time with 78 games played at Pepperdine, and she also tied a school record with her hat trick of three goals at San Jose State during the 2003 season. As a member of the Ajax America women's program, Brewer won a WPSL title in 2008 and reached the championship match two other years. She earned All-WPSL honors in 2009. Brewer has been a coach and counselor for the Malibu Soccer Academy the past six years. A native of La Mirada, Calif., Brewer played at La Mirada High School and for Slammers FC and was also a member of ODP regional and state teams. She has earned two degrees from Pepperdine: her bachelor's degree in business administration in 2007 and her MBA in 2010. |
