Kamimura Departs for WSU Head Coach Job
MALIBU, Calif. – Kelli Kamimura, the associate head coach of the women’s golf team at Pepperdine, will depart to become head coach of the women’s golf program at Washington State, the school announced today.
Kamimura has been on the coaching staff for the past six seasons. The Waves won West Coast Conference titles in each of the six seasons and advanced to the NCAA Championships four times. Pepperdine placed in the top 10 on all four occasions, with a third-place finish in 2006.
A native of Burlington, Wash., Kamimura was a two-time All-American at Washington. She graduated from UW in 2003, and also earned an MBA from Pepperdine in 2008.
“I am really excited to be at WSU and back in the Northwest,” Kamimura said. “I am thrilled to be a part of Cougar Athletics, and to have the opportunity to work in an area with such a sense of community is a great benefit to the golf program.”
