Four Women's Golfers Selected To WCC All-Academic Team

Four members of the Pepperdine women's golf team were named to the West Coast Conference's (WCC) All-Academic Team, the conference office announced on Wednesday. Juniors Maria Cristina Arenas and Rachel Kyono along with sophomores Courtney Clark and Carolina Llano were recognized for their accomplishments as student-athletes.
Arenas competed in a career-high 29 rounds this season and posted an 81.27 stroke average. She currently has a 3.04 GPA while majoring in advertising.
Kyono has a 3.17 GPA as a psychology major. She is a two-time All-WCC pick and concluded her junior campaign with a 75.90 stroke average in 30 rounds. Kyono tied for fourth at the WCC Championships.
Clark has a 3.22 GPA as a psychology major and tabbed All-WCC after placing third at the conference championships. She finished the season with a 82.73 stroke average.
Llano currently has a 3.40 GPA as an international business major. She was tabbed a second team All-American and selected the WCC's "Golfer of the Year" after leading the Waves with a 73.53 stroke average. Llano claimed individual medalsit honors at the NCAA Fall Preview Tournament and WCC Championships. She had six Top 20 finishes, including five Top 10 showings.
Pepperdine concluded the year ranked No. 26 in the final Golfweek / Sagarin rankings. The Waves won their third straight WCC Championships and advanced to the NCAA West Regional Championships for the sixth straight year.
