Waves, Na in Front After First Round of 'Anuenue Spring Break Classic

KAPALUA, Maui, Hawaii - The Pepperdine women's golf team opened up a two-stroke lead after Monday's first round of the `Anuenue Spring Break Classic on Monday, and junior Grace Na is tied for the individual lead.

The Waves shot a 3-under 285 at the par-72 Kapalua Bay Course and lead Washington by two shots and Arizona State by four strokes. Play continues on Tuesday and Wednesday with single rounds.

Na had a 5-under 67, best of the day along with Arizona State's Noemi Jimenez. Na was 1-under after 10 holes and then posted four birdies among her final eight. She had a total of six birdies on the day.

Also, freshman Marissa Chow (Alameda, Calif./Alameda HS) is tied for seventh place with a 1-under 71, sophomore Somin Lee (Denver, Colo./Overland HS) is tied for 10th place with an even-par 72, and both junior Danielle Gillaspy (Santa Maria, Calif./St. Joseph's HS) and sophomore Alina Ching (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School) are tied for 31st at 75.

Chow had four birdies, while Gillaspy and Ching each had three and Lee posted two.
