Women's Golf in Third at UC Irvine Invitational

Round 2 Results Get Acrobat Reader

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Two Waves are in the top five and the Pepperdine women's golf team is in third place after Monday's first two rounds of the UC Irvine Invitational.

The Waves shot 298-294 at the par-72 Santa Ana Country Club and have a total of 592, 14 shots behind Stanford and four back of Texas A&M. The third and final round is on Tuesday.

Senior Grace Na (Alameda, Calif./Alameda HS) is tied for third place with a 1-under 143 (74-69). She's six back of the leader, Mariah Stackhouse of Stanford. Na's second round consisted of four birdies and just one bogey.

Senior Liv Cheng (Auckland, New Zealand) is tied for fifth place with a 1-over 145 (72-73). She had three birdies in each round.

Also, sophomore Marissa Chow (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani HS) is tied for 18th at 151 (76-75), junior Alina Ching (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School) is tied for 24th at 153 (76-77) and junior Somin Lee (Denver, Colo./Overland HS) is tied for 40th at 156 (79-77). Ching had a total of six birdies on the day.
