Waves Welcome Haley Videckis to Malibu

“We are extremely excited to be adding a player of this caliber to our program,” Weisenberg said. “Haley has a smooth outside game, and can mix it up in the paint. What really excites us the most about her is the fact that she competes on and off the court with the same tenacity.”
As a freshman, Videckis (Bartlett, Ill./Bartlett HS) ranked fifth on the Sun Devils in scoring, averaging 6.7 points to go along with 3.3 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game in 29 appearances. Videckis led ASU in 3-pointers connecting on a team-high 28, converting on a .308 (28-91) clip. During Pac-12 play, Videckis elevated her game, chipping in 7.4 points, 2.5 rebounds in 22.9 minutes per game and made 22 triples in league contests.
Videckis scored a career-high 18 points in ASU’s double-overtime victory against rival Arizona (2/19/13) and scored nine or more points nine times, including six double-digit scoring efforts. The Illinois native pulled down a career-high nine rebounds against Binghampton (12/1/12) and recorded five or more boards eight times. A talented long-range shooter, Videckis connected on three 3-pointers in a game three times and hit a game-winning triple against Arizona (2/24/13).
Videckis turned in an outstanding prep career and finished third on Bartlett High School's all-time scoring list with 1,350 points, including a school record 133 career 3-pointers. She also accounted for 200 assists, 203 steals and 461 rebounds during her 112-game career.
As a prep senior, Videckis helped lead the Hawks to a 32-2 record and their second state appearance in school history en route to a third-place finish. Videckis was the driving force behind Bartlett's success averaging team highs in points (18.0) and rebounds (5.9) while sinking an area-best 74 3-pointers.
Videckis, who was voted the "exceptional player" of the Upstate Eight Valley Division, earned All-State first-team, IBCA and first-team Sun-Times All-Area honors, as well as All-State AP second team selection. The Courier-News Player of the Year in 2012, Videckis was also named the honorary co-captain of the 2011-12 Daily Herald Fox Valley all-area team.
