MALIBU, Calif. - Lauren Wenski's three pointer with 7:38 left in the second half of Saturday's West Coast Conference (WCC) tilt against San Diego gave Pepperdine a 45-42 lead it would never relinquish as the Waves downed the Toreros, 65-55, in Malibu, Calif.

San Diego (7-15, 2-7 WCC) erased a 28-21 half-time deficit with a strong surge to open the second stanza of play. At the 15:41 mark Brandi Collato connected on her only trey of the afternoon to give the Toreros their first lead of the contest, 33-32. The lead would swap hands six times in all leading up to Wenski's three.

Jennifer Lacy's memorable season rolled on as the Agoura Hills, Calif., native poured in a game-high 20 points and secured 13 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the year. Junior Kelsey Ball banged home a career-high 16 on 7-10 shooting, while Wenski accounted for 10.

USD was paced by the play of Amanda Rego who dropped in 16 points, while Collato ended the contest with 11.

Pepperdine (9-13, 5-4 WCC) jumped out early on San Diego building up a 12-point, 18-6, lead before heading into the locker room ahead by a 28-21 margin.

The Waves will head back to the road for one last regular-season road swing next weekend when it takes on Gonzaga and Portland Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
