Waves Fall to LMU, 70-57
The Waves (6-12, 1-4 WCC) shot just 35.1% for the game and committed 22 turnovers, while the Lions (11-9, 3-2 WCC) shot 41.4%, recorded 34 points in the paint to the Waves 20, and scored 25 points off Waves’ turnovers.
The Waves got off to a quick start and led 14-7, but the Lions used three consecutive three-pointers in an 11-0 spurt and finished the half on a 28-9 run to lead 35-23 at halftime. The Lions shot only 38.9% from the field but limited the Waves to 30.3% shooting. After intermission, the Lions expanded the lead to as many as 25 points, but the deficit proved to be too much to overcome. In the second half, the Lions shot 44.1% while the Waves shot 41.7%.
