Jesse Smith Tabbed All-MPSF First Team

MALIBU, Calif. - Three Pepperdine water polo athletes were honored Tuesday when the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) announced the 2005 All-Conference teams. Jesse Smith was tabbed as a first-team selection, while Grant Miller was named to the third team and Adam Hewko earned honorable mention honors.

For Smith, this year's award marks the fourth time in his illustrious career the San Diego, Calif., has been named to the first team. This season, Smith led the Waves in scoring with a career-high 61 goals.

Miller earns his second-consecutive third-team nod after scoring 43 goals during this, his sophomore season. The La Verne, Calif., native ended the season second on the team in goals with 43.

Hewko repeats as an honorable mention selection after a 43-goal sophomore season.

Pepperdine ended the 2005 season with an 18-11 overall record (3-5 MPSF) and defeated Long Beach State in the seventh-place game of the conference post-season tournament.
