No. 6 Pepperdine Falls To No. 3 Stanford, 7-4




BERKELEY, Calif. – The Pepperdine men’s water polo team was defeated by Stanford 7-4, in the first round of the MPSF Championships Friday, at Cal Berkeley.


The Cardinal maintained the lead throughout the game. The Waves were only able to outscore Stanford in the fourth quarter (2-1), yet it wasn’t enough to close the gap.


Grant Miller (LaVerne, Calif. / Damien HS), Andrew Milcovich (Walnut Creek, Calif. / De La Salle HS), J.P. MacDonell (Redwood City, Calif. / Bellarmine HS) and Matt MacDonell (Redwood City, Calif. / Bellarmine HS), each recorded one goal for Pepperdine. Goalkeeper Travis Stachowski was credited with six saves.


The Waves meet No. 7 Santa Barbara at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, in the Spieker Aquatics Center at the California campus.
