Pepperdine volleyball alumna Kim Him helped Team USA make history on Sunday, beating China 3-1 (27-25, 25-20, 16-25, 26-24) and winning the first-ever gold medal for the U.S. Women's program at the FIVB World Championship. Hill led the national team with 20 points and was named the World Championship's Most Valuable Player.
The U.S. Women's National Team, with Pepperdine's own Kim Hill, Marv Dunphy and David Hunt on the playing and coaching rosters, will play for the 2014 FIVB World Championship gold medal on Sunday versus China. Team USA is making just its third appearance in the finals after walking away with silver in 1967 and 2002.
