In the semifinals, Sarkissian faced off with #74 Thompson. Although the senior got the match started out with a 6-3 win in set one, Thompson responded with a 6-0 win the second.
The third and deciding set was close, until tied at 3-3, Thompson broke Sarkissian’s serve to gain a timely edge. The Bruin was able to hold onto the lead and win 6-3 to advance to tomorrow’s consolation championship.
Next up, Sarkissian and the rest of the Waves get set for the Battle in the Bay Classic on Oct. 10-13.
