#8 Men's Tennis Defeats Saint Mary's, 6-1
April 7, 2012 MORAGA, Calif. - Another dominating effort by the eighth-ranked Pepperdine men's tennis team lifted the Waves to their 13th straight victory in a 6-1 road win at Saint Mary's on Saturday in West Coast Conference action. The Waves are the lone unbeaten team left in the WCC at 5-0 and now stand at 16-6 overall. The Gaels dropped to 4-15, 0-5. Junior Sebastian Fanselow (Essen, Germany/Kaplan College Prep School), senior Hugh Clarke (Brisbane, Australia/Brisbane Boys College) and senior Jenson Turner (Woodland Hills, Calif./Campbell Hall HS) were double winners for the Waves, posting victories both in singles and doubles. Those three also had the easiest time of it in singles. Fanselow, ranked #9 by the ITA, won at the #1 position by the score of 6-4, 6-0, while Clarke reversed that score and posted a 6-0, 6-4 win at #3. Turner had a 6-2, 6-1 victory at #4 singles. After the Waves won the doubles point by winning two of three, four of Pepperdine's five singles wins came in straight sets. Pepperdine next takes a break from WCC play to visit Fresno State on Wednesday (April 11).
