Pepperdine Finishes Runner-Up at WCC Tournament

Pedro Iamachkine and Lautaro Pane both honored as all-tournament picks in both singles and doubles.

PEPPERDINE 2014-15: All-WCC second team performer in singles and a first-team pick in doubles … Charted a 13-9 singles record, including an 11-7 tally in dual action … Went 6-2 at No. 1 and 5-5 at No. 2 … Posted a 14-13 doubles record, including 11-11 in dual play … Teamed up with Rakshay Thakkar for a 13-9 overall record in doubles, and an 11-8 record at No. 1 … Clinched three duals this season for Pepperdine, including two at 4-3 … Rallied back from behind to defeat UC Irvine’s Nico Mertens 3-6, 7-6 (5), 7-5 to lift the Waves to a 4-3 win … Also secured a 4-3 decision vs. Oklahoma, outlasting Kevin Farin, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-3 … Defeated #63-ranked Diego Hidalgo, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, to help lift the Waves to a 4-3 upset win over Florida (5/8) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament … Posted a 3-2 singles record vs. ranked opponents … Tallied a 3-5 doubles record vs. ranked opponents along with Thakkar … Reached as high as #79 in the doubles rankings … Ended season ranked #16 in singles regionally, and #8 in doubles with Thakkar … WCC Doubles Team of the Week alongside Thakkar (3/8) … Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete … Earned WCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll “silver” honors.
