MALIBU, Calif. -- The Pepperdine men's golf team heads out to New Mexico for its second tournament of the fall and the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate this weekend. The Waves have been a regular at this event, playing there nine of the last 12 years and 11 times overall, and they won the tournament in 2007. The last time Pepperdine attended, Andrew Putnam was a tri-medalist in 2010.

EVENT INFO -- The tournament will be held at the par-72, 7,562-yard UNM Championship Golf Course in Albuquerque, N.M. Thirty-six holes will be played on Friday (Sept. 28) and the final 18 are on Saturday (Sept. 29). Live scoring will be provided at www.golfstat.com.

FIELD -- Pepperdine is one of 14 teams in the field, along with host New Mexico, Arizona, BYU, Baylor, Colorado, Minnesota, New Mexico State, San Francisco, Texas-San Antonio, UC Irvine, Utah, UTEP and Wyoming.

PEPPERDINE LINEUP -- The Waves will utilize a lineup that includes four returners and one newcomer. Senior Johnny Mac Arthur (Newhall, Calif./Hart HS), junior Parker Page (Louisville, Ky./Ballard HS), sophomores Kevin DeHuff (Coto de Caza, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic HS) and Caston Roberts (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert Christian HS) and freshman Cody McManus (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista HS) are the five. DeHuff will be making his season debut.

NOTABLES -- Johnny Mac Arthur is the Waves' top returner. He had a stroke average of 72.86 last season, second on the team, and qualified for the NCAA West Regional as an individual last spring. His scoring average has improved by multiple strokes each year at Pepperdine ... Parker Page is the last Wave to win a tournament, as he was co-medalist at the Folino Invitational in spring 2012 ... Jeremy Sanders was a two-time Division III All-American first teamer at Redlands and had two top-five finishes at the NCAA Division III Championships before transferring to Pepperdine this fall.

ROSTER -- Pepperdine's roster saw a good deal of change in the offseason. Of Pepperdine's 10-man roster, four saw action for the Waves last season. The newcomers consist of four true freshmen, one transfer and one student-athlete who didn't compete last season. The breakdown is one senior, two juniors, three sophomores and four freshmen.

GEIBERGER -- The 2012-13 season marks John Geiberger's 17th as head coach of Pepperdine. In his first season as coach of the Waves, Geiberger, a three-year letterwinner for the Waves in the late `80s and early `90s, led the team to the 1997 NCAA national title, the first in team history. Under Geiberger's guidance, Pepperdine has won the WCC title 10 times and he has earned the league's Coach of the Year honors on five occasions.

PEPPERDINE GOLF HISTORY -- Thanks to its victory at the 1997 NCAA Championships, Pepperdine will always be known on a national level for its outstanding men's golf program. The Waves have made eight appearances at the NCAA Championships since 1993 and have made NCAA Regional berths in 19 of the last 21 years. In the West Coast Conference, they've won 17 championships since 1987 and have finished either first or second in 21 of the last 26 years.
