Pepperdine Beats Binghamton 90-83 in Lobo Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Willie Galick scored a career high 20 points and Marvin Lee had 15 points and 12 rebounds in Pepperdine's 90-83 win over Binghamton in the first round of the Lobo Invitational Thursday night.
Pepperdine (4-10) will play New Mexico (10-3) in the championship game Friday. New Mexico earlier defeated Alcorn State 91-59.
Binghamton (6-5) was led by Mike Gordon with 22 points and Troy Hailey with 19.
Pepperdine trailed 57-56 with 12:13 left after Binghamton's Duane James scored. But the Bearcats then went nearly eight minutes without a field goal and Pepperdine went on a 19-5 run. All of Binghamton's points in that stretch were on free throws. A 3-pointer by Pepperdine's Gregg Barlow gave the Waves a 75-62 lead with 4:33 left.
Steve Proctor hit a 12-foot jumpshot with 4:14 remaining to end the Bearcats' drought from the field and the Bearcats got within 81-71 with 2:50 remaining. Moments later a Binghamton basket was wiped out by a charging call and Binghamton coach Al Walker was hit with a technical for arguing the charging call.
Pepperdine guard Kingsley Costain hit two free throws off the technical Binghamton got no closer than the final score.
Chase Griffin scored 18 points and Costain 17 for the Waves.
