Kingsley Costain, Russell Hicks and Freshman Recruit Willie Galick Invited to Team Canada Tryouts

Malibu, Calif. - Pepperdine's Kinglsey Costain and Russell Hicks, along with incoming freshman recruit Willie Galick, have been invited to Canada Basketball's Under 21 Young Men's National Team tryouts, it was recently announced.
The tryouts are scheduled for June 27-30 at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario. Following the tryouts, the Under 21 Team will have two training sessions before hosting the Jack Donohue International Classic at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, July 25-29. Australia, China and Greece are scheduled to join Canada in the five-day tournament.
The tournament is in preparation for the 2005 Under 21 FIBA World Championship that will be held August 5-14 in Argentina.
Costain (Toronto, Ontario) and Hicks (Niagara Falls, Ontario) made immediate impacts as freshmen for Pepperdine during the 2004-05 campaign as each were named to the West Coast Conference's (WCC) All-Freshman team.
Costain, who was a member of the 2004 Under 21 Young Men's National Team, appeared in 29 games, starting 11, and averaged 7.4 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists from the point-guard position during his freshman campaign.
Hicks, a 7-foot center who developed into a presence inside, played in 30 games, starting seven, and averaged 4.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks a contest in his rookie year.
Galick (6-7, 230) is a forward from Nanaimo, British Columbia. He attended Cedar Community School where he averaged 33 points, 15 rebounds three assists and two steals as a junior. Galick was a AA "Most Valuable Player"/All-Star and was a three-time Team Island All-Star.
At the 2005 adidas All-Canadian Game in April, Galick scored 10 points, had seven rebounds and four assists in 29 minutes of action.
