Chandler Blanchard joins the Waves for 2014 season

MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine baseball is pleased to announce the signing of 6-4 RHP Chandler Blanchard (Henderson, Nev./Coronado HS) to a National Letters of Intent to compete at Pepperdine in the 2014 season as released today by head coach Steve Rodriguez.

Pepperdine Baseball will release a new member of its 2014 class every Thursday on the official website of Pepperdine Athletics, PepperdineSports.com.

CHANDLER BLANCHARD, 6-4, 230, RHP (Coronado HS, Nev.)
A two-time letter-winner at Coronado High School, Blanchard enjoyed a strong junior campaign earning all-Southeast Division (first) and all-Sunrise Region (second) selections as a utility player. Rated the No. 2 player in Nevada by PerfectGame.com, Blanchard helped the Cougars to conference and region championships and a 4A State runner-up finish in 2012. A 2012 Sunrise All-Star team member, Blanchard played for the Reds Area Code team. A standout in the classroom, Blanchard earned Nevada Academic all-state honors.

Coach Rodriguez on Blanchard: “Chandler is a presence on the mound and we are expecting him to compete for a weekend spot immediately. He can throw strikes with three pitches, and he has a tremendous future in front of him. He really competes on the mound.”
