Summer Wrap-Up: Waves Complete Summer League Play

MALIBU, Calif. -- The Pepperdine baseball team sent a total of 22 players across the country to play in summer leagues over the past few months. Here’s a look at how they fared.

Anchorage Glacier Pilots – Alaska Baseball League
INF Michael PerriSummer League Profile – Appeared in 15 games for the Glacier Pilots this summer, recording seven hits … had one double and one home run … drove in six runs and scored four.
RHP Chandler BlanchardSummer League Profile (Perri pitching stats also belong to Blanchard) – Posted a 2.65 ERA in 34.0 innings pitched … had five starts and went 2-2 … struck out 20 batters and gave up 10 walks … tossed one complete game … was named an Alaska Baseball League All-Star.

Fairbanks Goldpanners – Alaska Baseball League
OF Brandon CarusoSummer League Profile – Batted .265 in 30 games played for the Goldpanners … drove in 12 runs and scored 24 batting at the top of the lineup … had six doubles, three triples and one homer … helped lead team to an ABL Championship and appearance in the NBC World Series with a 3-for-5, RBI day in the title game.
LHP Jayson BaladesSummer League Profile – Made three starts and pitched 14.0 innings for the Goldpanners … went 1-1 on the mound, posting a 3.86 ERA … struck out 14 batters and gave up just two extra-base hits … helped team win the ABL Championship.


 

 

Cotuit Kettleers – Cape Cod Baseball League
RHP Jackson McClellandSummer League Profile – Made 11 appearances and got three starts for the Kettleers this summer … picked up one win and posted a 4.61 ERA … struck out 20 batters and walked nine in 27.1 innings pitched … helped the Kettleers to a Cape Cod League playoff appearance.

Willmar Stingers – Northwoods League
RHP A.J. PuckettSummer League Profile – Made seven starts in 10 appearances for the Stingers … helped lead the team to the postseason, picking up the team’s lone playoff win … went 3-2 on the mound with a 2.28 ERA in 51.1 innings pitched
OF Jack RossSummer League Profile – Appeared in 44 games for the Stingers, helping to lead Wilmar to a playoff appearance … batted .348 on the season, hitting four homers, two triples and 11 doubles … drove in 31 runs and scored 39 … stole 12 bases.
INF Hutton MoyerSummer League Profile – Played in 29 games for the Stingers this summer … batted .268 and drove in 20 runs, while scoring 23 … hit eight homers, one triple and five doubles … stole eight bases … was named to the Northwoods League Big League Dreams showcase roster.

North Adams Steeplecats – New England Collegiate Baseball League
INF Brad AndersonSummer League Profile – Played in 10 games for the SteepleCats this summer … hit one double and drove in one run … drew a walk and scored a run.

Martinsville  Mustangs – Coastal Plain League
INF Chris FornaciSummer Stats – Played in 16 games and made 15 starts for the Mustangs this summer … hit one homer and three doubles … drove in six runs and scored six more.

Champion City Kings – Prospect League
RHP Evan DunnSummer League Profile – Tossed 25.2 innings for the Champion City Kings … struck out 11 batters and recorded one save in 17 appearances … picked up one victory.

Medford Rogues – West Coast League
OF Jeremy GoldenetzSummer League Profile – Appeared in 16 games with the Rogues, batting .207 … hit one homer and two doubles on the summer … drew 12 walks, scored eight runs and had four stolen bases.
RHP Mat SniderSummer League Profile – Made 12 relief appearances for the Rogues over the summer … Struck out six batters in 9.1 innings pitched.

Victoria Harbourcats – West Coast League
C Aaron BarnettSummer League Profile – Batted .260 while playing in 37 games for the Harbourcats … recorded 34 hits, five of which were doubles and one a home run … drove in seven runs and scored 19.

Santa Paula Halos – California Collegiate League
OF Ricky DavisSummer League Profile – Was second on the team with a .383 batting average … posted one homer, one triple and three doubles … drove in 10 runs and scored 11 more.

SoCal Catch – California Collegiate League
RHP Monty Plattner  - Summer League Profile – Tossed 24.2 innings for the Catch this summer … struck out seven batters and gave up just four walks … was 2-2 in 11 appearances.
RHP Jeremy Erisman  - Summer League Profile – Made 10 appearances for the Catch … struck out 25 batters and posted a 4.36 ERA … took a loss in his only decision.

Conejo Oaks – California Collegiate League
OF Connor GarelickSummer League Profile – Played in 34 games for the Oaks, batting .272 for the summer … drove in 17 runs and scored 14 more … posted a .620 OPS … had a .325 batting average with runners in scoring position.
INF Manny JeffersonSummer League Profile – Played in 31 games for the Oaks this summer … battes .211, driving in five runs and scoring 14 … hit seven doubles.

Long Beach Legends – Orange County Collegiate League
RHP George Alamillo Summer League Profile – Pitched 18.0 innings for the Legends over the summer … made three appearances and two starts, going 2-0 on the mound … did not allow a run … posted a 0.67 WHIP.

Hoptown Hoppers – Ohio Valley League
INF Mitchell GallagherSummer Stats – Was second on the team with a .322 batting average in 25 games played … drove in 12 runs and scored 15 more … posted two doubles and one home run … helped lead team to the Ohio Valley Championship Series.
C/1B Ben RodriguezSummer Stats – Batted .278 in 29 games for the Hoppers … led the Ohio Valley League with four homers over the summer … drove in 12 runs and scored 15 … posted six doubles and one triple, slugging .485 … helped lead the team to the Ohio Valley Championship Series.
