MALIBU, Calif. – Three Waves will compete for the 2013 Cape Cod Baseball League Championship beginning Wednesday, August 14. The CCBL Championship Series were originally scheduled to start Tuesday, but inclement weather pushed the start time back to the middle of the week.

Righthander Corey Miller (Laguna Nigel, Calif./JSerra HS) and starting third baseman Austin Davidson (Oxnard, Calif./Oxnard HS) of Orleans will square off against righthander Eric Karch of Cotuit in the best-of-three title series.

Davidson is enjoying a monster postseason for the Firebirds and is batting a team-high .389 (7-18) with a double and seven RBI. His postseason double matches the club’s single-season record of 15 shared by former Major Leaguer Aaron Boone.

Neither Miller (1-0, 0.00 ERA, 5.0 IP, 6K postseason) or Karch (0-0, 6.00, 3.0, 2K postseason) are scheduled to start on the mound during the championship series. Both are available out of the bullpen.
