Three Waves Set to Compete in Divisional Championship Series of Cape Cod League Playoffs

MALIBU, Calif. – Three Waves will compete in the second round of the 2013 Cape Cod Baseball League Playoffs beginning Saturday, August 10. The CCBL Divisional Playoffs were originally scheduled for Friday, but inclement weather pushed the start time back to Saturday.

Righthander Corey Miller (Laguna Nigel, Calif./JSerra HS) will start on the mound for Orleans against Chatam in game one of the Eastern Division Championship series. First pitch is set for 4:00 p.m. (PT). Miller owns a strong 5-1 record with a 3.20 ERA in eight starts and has struck out 18 against just five walks in 39.1 innings. Austin Davidson (Oxnard, Calif./Oxnard HS) is the starting third baseman for the Firebirds and is batting .288 with a team-high 14 doubles to go along with 24 RBI.

Righthander Eric Karch (Fresno, Calif./Clovis West HS) will get the ball for Cotuit when the Kettleers square off against Bourne Saturday. First pitch of the Western Division Championship series is slated for 1:00 p.m. (PT). Karch will make his third start of the season and owns a 3-0 record with a 3.90 ERA and has struck out 19 and walked five.
