MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine baseball team made another jump in the national rankings this week, climbing its way into the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) ratings, USA Today Coaches Poll and the Perfect Game USA rankings. The Waves also jumped five spots in the Collegiate Baseball rankings.

The Waves checked in at No. 19 in the Collegiate Baseball rankings and have moved up five spots each week since first being ranked No. 29 two weeks ago. Pepperdine had been receiving votes for the past month in both the USA Today and NCBWA polls and came in at No. 25 and 28 respectively in the rankings. Perfect Game USA rated the Waves No. 25 in its most recent rankings. The Waves are also ranked No. 30 in the official NCAA RPI ratings.

Pepperdine has won 14 of its last 16 games to climb into first in the WCC standings midway through the conference season. The Waves are 27-8 overall and 12-3 in WCC play so far this year.

The Waves have wins over two ranked teams this year, beating No. 14 Houston at home and No. 27 UCLA on the road. Pepperdine still has two games against No. 3 Cal Poly and one game against No. 23 UC Santa Barbara on the schedule.
