Baseball: Pepperdine Signs A.J. Puckett for the 2014 Season

MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine baseball is pleased to announce the signing of 6-3 RHP A.J. Puckett (Danville, Calif./De La Salle HS) to a National Letter of Intent (NLI) to compete at Pepperdine in the 2014 season as released today by head coach Steve Rodriguez. Pepperdine Baseball will release a new member of its 2014 class every Thursday on the official website of Pepperdine Athletics, PepperdineSports.com. A.J. PUCKETT, 6-3, 175, RHP (De La Salle HS) Why Puckett Chose Pepperdine: “I chose Pepperdine to continue my education in a faith-based environment. I felt it gave me the best opportunity to pursue my academic and athletic interests and to achieve my goals.” Coach Rodriguez on Puckett: “A.J. has the ability to be something very special because he can control his fastball and the curveball is a big time pitch. He is still maturing physically and I am expecting big things from A.J. in the future.” An Inside Look at Puckett What sporting event you would most like to attend? The World Series in Yankee Stadium. What is your most exciting/thrilling moment in your sports career? The most thrilling/exciting moment in my sports career was winning an NCS Division 1 Baseball title.
What do you want to accomplish on and off the field at Pepperdine? On the field I want to win a College World Series and help contribute to winning multiple WCC titles. Off the field I am anxious to meet new people and enjoy the college experience at Pepperdine University.
