Lauren Tyree And Chad Trammell Lead Waves At Triton Classic In San Diego

Sophomores Lauren Tyree and Chad Trammell were both the top individual performers of their respective races at the 2003 UC San Diego Triton Cross Country Classic contest on Saturday at the UCSD North Campus Course.
Tyree placed 25th in the five-kilometer run with a time of 23:51.7 to help the Waves to a fifth-place finish among Division I teams. UCLA captured the women's event with 47 points, followed by UC Irvine (48), San Diego State (69), USC (94) and Pepperdine.
Freshman Tarrah Crowley also finished among the Top 35 runners, placing 32nd with a time of 24:06.6.
Trammell once again paced the Pepperdine men, recording an 18th place showing with a time of 26:28.8 in theneight-kilometer run. Senior Louis Rich registered a time of 26:48.2 to finish 28th.
UCLA also captured the men's event as it totaled 28 points. UC Irvine was second with 34 points, followed by Pepperdine (78) and the University of San Diego (100).
Pepperdine is next in action on Saturday, October 18, when it travels to San Luis Obispo to compete in the Cal Poly Invitational.
