Chad Trammell Helps Waves to First Place Finish at Pepperdine Invitational

Senior Chad Trammell helped the Pepperdine men's cross country team to its second straight victory as he finished first in the four-mile run at the first annual Pepperdine Invitational Saturday morning in Malibu.
Trammell, who also finished first at the San Diego Invitational two weeks ago, paced the field with a time of 20:53.
The Waves, who finished with 31 points, claimed three of the top six spots as sophomore Sam Hudson (22:01) and sophomore Matthew Jenks (22:11) finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
Cal State Northridge placed second with 50 points while USC was third with 62 points. Manual Ruiz posted a time of 20:55 finish second and lead the Matadors while Tomas Babiszkiewicz completed the course with a time of 21:55 to pace the Trojans.
Pepperdine returns to the trails on Saturday, October 1, when it travels to Riverside for the UC Riverside Invitational beginning at 8:30 a.m.
