ACADEMIC AWARDS: Named WCC All-Academic honorable mention as a sophomore ... Earned WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll "silver" honors and was a Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete in 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15.
PEPPERDINE XC 2014: Did not run at any meets as a junior due to injury.
PEPPERDINE XC 2013: Ran at four meets as a sophomore ... Best 6k time was 23:57.6 at the Bronco Invitational.
PEPPERDINE XC 2012: Ran at all seven races as a freshman, the only Wave to do so ... Was the team's top finisher at the Titan Invitational ... Best 5k time was 20:14.75 at the Northridge Collegiate Invitational and 6k was 24:24.9 at the UC Riverside Invitational ... Was one of three women to compete at the NCAA West Regional.
PEPPERDINE TRACK 2015: Competed at four meets as a junior ... Had the team's top time in the 800 meters, a 2:21.54 at the Cunningham Track Classic (3/7), where she finished third out of 25 runners ... Was also part of the team's fastest 4x400 relay of the season.
PEPPERDINE TRACK 2014: Ran at all nine meets as a sophomore ... Set the school record in the 800 meters with a time of 2:16.88 at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational (4/12) ... Finished 16th out of 111 runners at that event ... Also had best times of 1:01.35 in the 400 (Ben Brown, 3/15) and 4:54.86 in the 1,500 (UC Irvine, 3/21) ... Was part of the school-record 4x800-meter relay team that ran 9:48.41 and won its race at Savannah State (3/1) ... Was also on the fastest 4x400 squad of the season.
PEPPERDINE TRACK 2013: Competed at five track meets as a freshman ... Ran the 800 meters most of the time, with a best of 2:23.25 at the Ben Brown Invitational (3/9) ... Had the team's best time of the year in the 1,500 meters (5:05.12 at North Florida on 3/2) ... Also ran the 400 once (64.17 at Cal State L.A. on 4/6) ... Was part of the school-record-setting 4x400 relay team (4:01.38 at Pomona-Pitzer on 4/13).
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Holy Names Academy, located in Seattle, Wash., in 2012 ... Ran four years of track (400 and 800 meters) and cross country ... Placed seventh in the 800 at the state meet as both a senior and junior .. Had third-place state finishes in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays ... Team won Metro League championships from 2009-12, District championships in 2010 and 2011 and a state championship in 2011 ... Also played junior varsity volleyball ... Graduated with honors and was part of the National Honor Society ... Represented her school at the Seahawks Leadership Challenge.
CLUB: Ran with the Seatown Express Track Club ... Won 4x800 championships at nationals in 2010 and 2012 ... Was a junior olympic qualifier in the 800 and 1,500 meters.
PERSONAL: Born in Seattle, Wash. ... Daughter of Mark and Tara Demick ... Has one sibling, Emiley ... Majoring in creative writing with a minor in Spanish ... Works for Pepperdine's student newspaper, The Graphic ... Chose Pepperdine because "Coach Radnoti has a positive personality and his goals for athletes aligned with my aspirations as a runner. I felt most wanted within the Waves' community, the academics, service and leadership focus felt like a natural fit."
FAVORITES: Enjoys writing, acting, serving at a soup kitchen, playing sports and cooking/baking ... Favorites include Allyson Felix (pro athlete), Team USA and the Seattle Sounders (teams), Born to Run and Outliers (books), New Girl and Psych (TV shows) and volleyball and snowboarding (sports other than running) ... Says about running, "I am not exaggerating when I say track defines who I am. The track has tested my will, tenacity and character when I first stepped onto it when I was 9. When I had a life-threatening infection, the thought of running is what kept me going. Running has been more than an outlet, it has been my most honest form of self-expression and inspiration."
