ACADEMIC AWARDS: Named WCC All-Academic honorable mention as a sophomore ... Earned WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll "bronze" honors and was a Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete in both 2013-14 and 2014-15.
PEPPERDINE XC 2014: Ran at five of the six meets during a strong sophomore season ... Was Pepperdine's top runner at the Highlander Invitational and was the #2 runner the other four times ... Finished in 12th place overall with a season-best 5k time of 18:10.3 at the Highlander Invitational ... Had a season-best 6k time of 21:33.3 at the WCC Championships.
PEPPERDINE XC 2013: Ran at five meets as a freshman ... Was the Waves' top runner at the Titan Invitational ... Was sixth on the team at both the WCC Championships and NCAA West Regional ... Best 6k time was 22:32 at the NCAA West Regional and best 5k was 18:37.7 at the Titan Invitational.
PEPPERDINE TRACK 2014: Competed at seven meets as a freshman ... Broke the school record in the 800 meters twice -- running 2:19.34 at Westmont (2/22) and 2:17.29 at Ben Brown (3/15) -- before it was broken again by Stasia Demick ... Improved her 800 time again at Pomona-Pitzer (4/12) in 2:17.23 ... Was the team's top runner in the 1,500 meters with a season-best time of 4:43.03 (Cal/Nevada Collegiate Championship, 4/5) ... On Pepperdine's all-time top-five lists, ranks #2 in the 800 meters and #3 in the 1,500 meters ... Won the 800 at Westmont and was fifth at Ben Brown, and was second in the 1,500 at Riverside CC (3/8) ... Was also part of the school-record-setting 4x800-meter relay team that ran 9:48.41 and won its race at Savannah State (3/1).
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Jesuit High School, located in Portland, Ore., in 2013 ... Ran four years of varsity cross country and four years of varsity track ... Was all-state 6A third team in cross country as a junior ... Earned All-Metro League honors in cross country as a senior and junior ... Made the All-Metro League in track as a freshman and junior ... Ranks in the school's top 10 in the 400 and 800 meters ... School won 6A state championships in cross country (2009 and 2010) and track (2011 and 2012) ... Was an academic all-state selection and was on the honor roll.
PERSONAL: Born in Portland, Ore. ... Daughter of Todd and April Sheaffer ... Has three siblings: Allison, William and Gabriel ... Majoring in finance with a minor in non-profit management ... Volunteered at the Portland Rescue Mission, a homeless shelter, during summer 2014 ... Also worked as an accounting intern for Western Pacific Building Materials during summer 2014 ... Chose Pepperdine because of the "beautiful location, superb academics, outstanding athletics, the University's commitment to Christian values and a personal sense of belonging every time I set foot on campus."
FAVORITES: Enjoys playing tennis and soccer, mock trials, traveling, camping and backpacking ... Favorites include Roger Federer (pro athlete), Portland Timbers (pro sports team), Unbroken (book), Step Brothers (movie), The Office (TV show), The Head and the Heart (musical artist), frozen yogurt (food) and tennis (sport other than running) ... Favorite thing about running is "I love the culture associated with running, centered around a team all working toward a common objective or goal. I love that if you are willing to put in the time and the hours when no else may be watching, that you will always come out the other side as a stronger athlete than you were before."
