PEPPERDINE XC 2015 (SO): Ran at the first three meets of the season ... Finished as the Waves' #2 or #3 runner all three times ... Came in fifth place out of 66 runners at the Aztec Invitational ... Best 8k time was 25:24.5 at the Capital Cross Challenge.
PEPPERDINE XC 2014 (FR): Ran at all six meets ... Was Pepperdine's top runner a team-best three times ... One was at the WCC Championships, where he ran a season-best 8k in 25:32.9 ... The other two were the Mark Covert Classic and the Stanford Invitational ... Was the team's #2 runner at the NCAA West Regional.
PEPPERDINE TRACK 2016 (SO): Ran at all eight meets ... Moved to #5 on the program's all-time list in the 5,000 meters with a 14:54.99 at UCLA (4/1) ... Also ran the 3,000 multiple times (best of 8:47.69 at San Diego State on 3/25), the 800 twice (best of 2:03.07 at Pomona-Pitzer on 4/9) and the 1,500 once.
PEPPERDINE TRACK 2015 (FR): Competed at five meets ... Had the team's fastest 5,000 meters of the season, a 15:31.43 at UC Irvine (3/21) ... Won the 5,000 meters at the Cunningham Track Classic (3/7) ... Also ran the 1,500 twice with a 4:08.36 at the Ben Brown Invitational (3/14).
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Citrus Valley High School, located in Redlands, Calif., in 2014 ... Earned All-Mountain Valley League second team honors and was the school's Runner of the Year in cross country as a senior ... Ran three years of varsity cross country and two years of track ... Also earned leadership and attitude awards from the team in cross country ... Earned valedictorian honors.

PERSONAL: Born in Redlands, Calif. ... Son of Kristina Maeda and Matthew Maeda Has two siblings, Kaylee and Melanie ... A grandfather, Chester Maeda, played professional football with the Chicago Cardinals ... Majoring in chemistry ... Chose to attend Pepperdine because "besides the perfect weather for running and the view, the coaching staff and welcoming atmosphere guided me to choose Pepperdine."
