ACADEMIC AWARDS: Earned WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll "bronze" honors and was a Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete in 2014-15.
PEPPERDINE XC 2014: Competed at four meets as a freshman ... Had a season-best 6k time of 25:36.1 at the WCC Championships and a 5k of 19:46.5 at the Highlander Invitational.
PEPPERDINE TRACK 2015: Ran at five meets as a freshman ... Ran the 1,500 meters four times and the 800 meters three times ... Set bests of 5:11.20 in the 1,500 and 2:31.19 in the 800, both at Pomona-Pitzer (4/4).
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from El Dorado High School, located in Placentia, Calif., in 2014 ... Ran three years each of varsity cross country and varsity track ... Helped El Dorado to the CIF finals in cross country for the first time in 30 years ... Her best three-mile time in cross country was 18:47 ... ran the 400, 800, 1,600 and 3,200 meters in track ... A scholar-athlete in both sports all four years.
PERSONAL: Born in Redlands, Calif. ... Daughter of David and Wendy Smith ... Her father attended Pepperdine's Law School ... Has two siblings, Cole and Caelyn ... Chose to attend Pepperdine because "I absolutely fell in love with the campus and everything the school had to offer. In high school, I attended a leadership camp on campus and I got to stay in the dorms and see the campus as if I was a student at the school and it just felt like home."
FAVORITES: Enjoys being outdoors, going to the beach and traveling ... Sports hero is Bethany Hamilton ... Favorites include David Beckham (pro athlete), Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and Los Angeles Galaxy (pro sports teams), My Sister's Keeper (book), The Ultimate Gift (movie), Friends (TV show), Luke Bryan (musical artist), tacos (food) and soccer (sport other than soccer) ... Favorite thing about running is "I love the team atmosphere in an otherwise individual sport. In races, you are competing as a team but at the same time you are racing against yourself and pushing yourself to be the best you can be. It is the best of both worlds and I love that."
