Pepperdine has many runners looking to put their names in the team's record book in 2015.
The season begins Saturday at Westmont.
Of the 26 people on the women's roster, 14 are in their first year running track for the Waves.
Jen Triggs, a 1992 Seaver College graduate and cross country letterwinner, is in her third season on the Waves' cross country and track coaching staffs as a volunteer assistant coach in 2014-15.
Triggs, formerly Jen Fritz, was the first Pepperdine runner to cross the finish line at the 1992 West Coast Conference cross country championship, and placed seventh overall with a time of 20:01. Triggs was honored as an All-WCC first team selection for her efforts.
She graduated Pepperdine with a degree in sports medicine and later attended Columbia University in New York, N.Y. In 1998, she finished work on her master's degree in nutrition and applied physiology.
Triggs has spent extensive time studying and teaching yoga, and has worked as a fitness instructor in Santa Monica since 2002.
From 2002-04, Triggs found herself back at the Malibu campus teaching health and wellness classes for Pepperdine's physical education department.
Since 2005, she has owned and operated Lavender Bliss Mist, a boutique organic lavender company that sells lavender products from her family's farm in Santa Ynez, Calif. to local stores.
