Of the 26 people on the women's roster, 14 are in their first year running track for the Waves.
A former Pepperdine student-athlete, Dale Reicheneder has been involved with the Waves' cross country and track and field programs for more than a decade.
Reicheneder is in his 12th season assisting the Waves' programs in 2012-13. He's aided both current coach Robert Radnoti and former coach Dick Kampmann while at Pepperdine.
While a student-athlete at Pepperdine in the 1987-89 seasons, Reicheneder won the majority of his races under coaches Kevin Steele and Kampmann, setting course records at approximately six different venues. He led the Waves to the finish line at both the 1988 and 1989 West Coast Conference Championships and earned All-WCC honors both times with top-10 finishes.
A powerful hill runner, Reicheneder remains Pepperdine's only undefeated runner on its home course at Alumni Park. Reicheneder also holds the school's unofficial record (4:16) in the 1,600 meters on Pepperdine's Stotsenburg Track during a friendly, which pitted him against the nation's then-top collegiate triathlete.
Reicheneder's personal records include 4:07 in the mile, 14:11 in the 5,000, 30:26 in the 10,000 and 1:08.50 in the half-marathon. A two-time national trail running champion, Reicheneder has long enjoyed working out and inspiring the team, but his running with the team has been limited due to injury.
Reicheneder received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Pepperdine, graduating with honors, and is a recipient of Pepperdine's top Graduating Student of the Year and Humanities Student of the Year.
Reicheneder also earned his juris doctorate from Loyola Marymount and has been a practicing litigation attorney in Los Angeles for approximately 10 years.
