Rachael Willett was named Pepperdine's Academic Services Coordinator in July 2011.
She is responsible for student-athletes' academic advising, which includes coordinating tutors for students and working with all incoming freshmen and concerned students. She also is the staff advisor for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and is the community service liaison for the department of athletics.
While a graduate student at Pepperdine, Willett worked as a graduate assistant with the 2010-11 women's basketball team, helping with travel itineraries, the team's recruiting database, organizing the team camp and general office duties.
Before coming to Pepperdine, Willett interned at the White House under vice president Dick Cheney in 2008 and volunteered at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Maryland. She also had an internship with Fox News in the Los Angeles bureau in 2010.
After growing up in Rockford, Mich., Willett played basketball at Grand Valley State and later graduated from Calvin College in 2009. In 2011, she earned her master's degree from Pepperdine's school of public policy. She is now working on a doctor of education degree in organizational leadership through Pepperdine.
