Coastal Commission Gives Unanimous Approval to Campus Life Project
Dec. 13, 2012
MALIBU, Calif. --The California Coastal Commission gave unanimous approval to Pepperdine University's Campus Life Project on Thursday, putting the Waves one step closer to a new on-campus home for their athletic teams. A campus-wide e-mail from University Communications states: The California Coastal Commission this morning unanimously approved Pepperdine's Campus Life Project (CLP) at the commission's hearing in San Francisco. The initiative is a significant step forward for the University and will enable Pepperdine to implement strategic components of our previously approved long-range master plan. The original long-range plan received Los Angeles County and California Coastal Commission approval in the 1980s. In addition to renovating our undergraduate residence halls, highlights of the Campus Life Project include new student recreation areas, structures for accessible parking and other uses, and an athletic/events center. For more information, please visit the Campus Life Project website. Additional local coverage of the CCC's approval can be found at the Malibu Patch and Malibu Times websites. |
