MALIBU, Calif. - The postseason is all that's left for Pepperdine's remaining active programs, as the members of the men's and women's tennis teams begin the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships on Wednesday and the WCC regular-season champion baseball team starts the conference tournament on Thursday.

Manny Jefferson of the baseball team opens the show, and interviews take place with WCC Player of the Week Aaron Barnett of the baseball team, Lorraine Guillermo of the women's tennis team, and Francis Alcantara and Alex Sarkissian of the men's tennis team.

Here's an in-depth look at the week's events:

Pepperdine will face fourth-seeded Santa Clara on Thursday while #2 Loyola Marymount plays #3 Gonzaga. All games will be played at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton, Calif. The winner of the four-team WCC Tournament will earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, which begins next week.

Guillermo, making her second straight appearance in the 64-person singles draw, opens action with the first round on Wednesday. The junior, who is ranked #26, is looking for her first singles victory at the national tournament but boasts a team-best 29-10 season record heading into competition. Capannolo and Chiang are making their debut at the NCAA Doubles Championship, which will get underway on Thursday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex. The duo earned the West Coast Conference's automatic bid into the 32-team draw, by virtue of being the highest-ranked doubles pair in the league at #78.

MEN'S TENNIS

Seniors Alex Sarkissian and Francis Alcantara will end their impressive collegiate careers this week at the NCAA Singles & Doubles Championship. Sarkissian, the 2014 WCC Player of the Year, opens singles action on Wednesday and enters the 64-person draw ranked #28. Last season, while ranked #62, Sarkissian upset two top-35 ranked opponents to reach the round of 16 and pick up ITA All-American status. Sarkissian and Alcantara could also contend for All-American honors in doubles, and they enter Thursday's first round ranked #15. In order to be recognized as an ITA All-American, a pair must reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA Doubles Championship, finish in the top10 of the final ITA rankings or earn a top-eight seed in the doubles draw. Similarly, All-American honors are awarded to singles players who reach the round of 16 in the NCAA Singles Championship, finish in the top 20 of the final ITA rankings or earn a top-16 seed in the singles draw.
