MALIBU, Calif. -- Pepperdine University has announced the creation of an endowed scholarship in honor of former athletic chaplain Maurice Hilliard, who recently passed away.
The Maurice Hilliard Endowed Scholarship will benefit students for years to come. It was established by the family of a student who was deeply touched by Hilliard's ministry.
Anyone wishing to participate in the scholarship can contact Kim Barkis at (310) 506-6110 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hilliard had been a part of Pepperdine's staff since 2001. In addition to athletic chaplain, at various times he had been an assistant women's basketball coach, the men's basketball director of operations and an academic coordinator. Since 2010, he also served as program director for Pepperdine's Boone Center for the Family.
