ADVANCING ATHLETICS AT PEPPERDINE: HELPING TO RAISE THE WAVES!

The Waves Club is the core group of donors who financially support Pepperdine Athletics and who aim to enhance the growth of the program and the department. The Waves Club is led by the Athletic Board comprised of Waves Club members who are alumni, parents, friends, and staff and who have interest in helping to continue to build Pepperdine Athletics programs and facilities. The Waves Club sponsors two events each year: The fellowship building "Hall of Fame Induction Dinner" in the fall and the fund raising focused "Waves Club Auction and Recognition Dinner" in the spring.

The Pepperdine University Department of Athletics is dedicated to growing its 16 NCAA Division I teams, as well as expanding opportunities available to our coaches to provide better resources to students who wear the Waves uniform today and tomorrow. The department's goal is to carry on the tradition of excellence and pride for which it has been long recognized and supported by alumni and friends.

To help Pepperdine continue to rise and be competitive at a national level, the Waves Club was established by a dedicated group of donors who support the mission of the University and encourage the advancement of each of our intercollegiate teams.

THE GOALS OF THE WAVES CLUB INCLUDE:

1. Provide financial support to Pepperdine's 16 intercollegiate teams.
2. Fund fifth-year student-athlete tuition.
3. Purchase improved training equipment.
4. Extend the ability to recruit more extensively.
5. Improve the Pepperdine experience for every student-athlete.
6. Enhance, maintain and construct world-class facilities for competition and training.
7. Develop endowed athletics scholarships.
8. Provide financial aid to cover summer school expenses for current students who compete on athletic teams.

THE MANY WAYS TO SUPPORT THE WAVES CLUB

The Waves Club accepts cash, checks and credit card contributions as well as securities which provide immediate help to the athletic teams' operating budgets. You may designate your gift to a team of your choice or assist the program through a gift to the Pepperdine Athletics General Fund.

Building endowed scholarships will help ensure the future of Pepperdine athletics by establishing a fund that provides investment income for scholarships (this program requires a starting commitment of $100,000 or more). Gifts-in-kind, stocks, real estate and bequests are assets that can be donated through the Waves Club as a tax-deductible contribution for the athletics scholarship fund. Matching gifts are made by many companies who encourage their employees to be philanthropic by providing the benefit. Matching gift forms can be obtained from participating companies and mailed with the donor's contribution.
