CAREER: The 2009 National Player of the Year, a three-time All-American first teamer and a four-time All-MPSF selection ... Became only the fourth player in school history to record more than 2,000 kills and ended up third with 2,101 ... Led the nation twice in kills per game ... Also on Pepperdine’s career lists, finished second in attempts (4,130), third in service aces (154), third in points (2,454.0), fourth in kills per game (5.56), fourth in service aces per game (0.41), fourth in points per game (6.49), sixth in digs (624) and sixth in games played (378) ... Set school single-season records in the rally-scoring era for kills (2009), kills per game (2008), attempts (2009), points (2009) and points per game (2008) ... PEPPERDINE 2009: Earned National Player of the Year honors from both the AVCA and Volleyball Magazine ... Was also selected as the MPSF Player of the Year ... A first teamer on both the AVCA All-American and All-MPSF lists ... Led the nation in kills (6.36) for the second straight year as a senior ... One of three players to appear in all 104 games ... Hit .392 and also averaged 7.22 points, 2.09 digs, 1.05 blocks and 0.30 aces ... Led Pepperdine in kills in all 27 matches ... Had at least 14 kills in every match, with 20 or more 18 times and 30 or more eight times ... Despite Pepperdine’s runner-up finish, named the MPSF Tournament MVP after recording 19 kills vs. Long Beach State in the quarterfinals (4/25), 33 vs. Cal State Northridge in the semifinals (4/30) and 37 in the final vs. USC (5/2) ... Had 37 kills on two occasions, tying his own career high and tying his own school single-match record for the rally-scoring era ... Also had 37 in a home win over UC Irvine (2/20), leading to AVCA and MPSF Player of the Week honors ... Also earned AVCA and MPSF honors on Jan. 26 after averaging 5.50 kills and hitting .468 in wins against Stanford and Pacific ... Finished third nationally and second in the MPSF in service aces (0.53) ... Hit .390 and also averaged 1.38 digs and 0.92 blocks ... Started 19 of his 20 matches and played in 76 games ... Named to the NCAA Championships all-tournament team after recording 15 kills in the semifinal vs. Long Beach State (5/1) and a season-high 35 kills in the final vs. Penn State (5/3) ... Named to the MPSF all-tournament team after averaging 6.42 kills in three matches in Pepperdine’s run to the title ... Played in the first two matches of the 2008 season before suffering a fractured right (non-hitting) hand during an off-court mishap ... Pepperdine went 14-6 with him in the lineup, 3-5 without ... Was in double-figures kills in all 20 of his matches, with 20 or more kills 15 times and 30 or more kills four times ... Named AVCA and co-MPSF Player of the Week after the season’s opening weekend with 30 kills vs. UC Santa Barbara (1/9) and 17 vs. Cal State Northridge (1/12) ... PEPPERDINE 2007: Earned All-American and All-MPSF first team honors as a sophomore ... Led the squad with 5.60 kills and 6.67 points per game ... Hit .366 and averaged 1.53 digs, 1.01 blocks and 0.53 aces ... Ranked fifth nationally in aces ... Started all 29 matches (108 games) ... Had 30 or more kills four times, 20 or more kills 16 times and was in double-figures 27 times ... Had four kill-dig double-doubles ... Named MPSF Player of the Week twice (2/5 and 4/16) ... Recorded a career-high 37 kills in a five-game win at UCLA (1/24) ... Had additional season highs of five service aces (1/18 vs. UC San Diego), 12 digs (2/23 vs. Pacific) and nine blocks (3/10 at Hawaii) ... Best hitting performance was .731 (21-2-26) in the season opener vs. California Baptist (1/9) ... PEPPERDINE 2006: Earned a spot on the All-MPSF honorable mention squad as a freshman ... Started all 25 matches (90 games) ... Averaged 3.76 kills, second on the team ... Also averaged 1.52 digs, 0.94 blocks and 0.29 aces ... Hit .306 for the season ... Had 20 or more kills four times and was in double-figures 19 times ... Had two kill-dig double-doubles ... AUSTRALIA: A member of the Australian National Team since 2005 ... Won the 2008 Ted Kalkhoven Award as Australia’s top player ... Was one of the top players at the 2007 World Cup in Japan ... Australia finished eighth but Carroll was second among all players with 183 kills ... Was on the first Australian team to win the Asian Championships in 2007 ... Competed for Australia in the Asian Juniors tournament in 2004 ... Tabbed a U-19 National All-Star 6 twice ... Member of NSW U-17 (2001-02) and U-19 (2003-04) state teams.
