MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine baseball team’s 2008 season opener against Wake Forest on Friday, Feb. 22 was postponed due to rain. The teams will square off in doubleheaders beginning Saturday, Feb. 23 at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday, Feb. 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Eddy D. Field Stadium.

The game was initially postponed as heavy rains fell at 2 p.m., the scheduled start time. After a one-hour delay, another storm affected the Malibu area, postponing the game until Saturday. Brett Hunter (Moorpark, Calif./Moorpark HS) was Pepperdine's scheduled starter, while Ben Hunter was set to toe the rubber for Wake Forest.
