2009 SPRING: Led all Pepperdine freshmen with five home runs during his rookie campaign with the Waves ... Batted .242, drove in 24 runs and scored 21 times through 45 of 54 games ... Made 37 starts at catcher ... Drew only 15 bases on balls, but walked three times each in games vs. Cal Poly (3/10) and UC Santa Barbara (5/6) ... His three walks vs. the Mustangs were his first free passes of the year through 18 plate appearances ... He also stole his first and only base of the year in this contest and scored a career high three runs ... Was the only member of the everyday starting lineup to hit more home runs than doubles (2) ... Did not record his first two-bagger until March 27 at San Diego, a ball that dropped in between the Toreros' short stop and left fielder along the third-base line ... Had two round-trippers to his name before hitting his first double and would hit two more homers before smacking his follow-up double on May 5 at Long Beach State ... Credited with a run and RBI during the Blue and Orange World Series ... Threw out three of five of his teammates trying to steal during the three-game intrasquad series ...
