MALIBU, Calif. - Freshman Arianna Colffer captured the flight A singles crown at the recent 2009 Fall Intercollegiate Tournament held at Cal State Fullerton.

Colffer defeated Steffi Wong (SLO) 3-6, 6-1, 6-0, Jaklin Alawi (CSULB) 6-3, 6-0, Diane Filip (SLO) 6-3, 6-4 and Suzie Matzenauer (SLO) 7-5, 7-5 in the finals. Matzenauer was last year's singles champion.

Senior Tania Rice and sophomore Andrea Oates won the A/B consolation doubles round after defeating Heckel/Pironkova (LMU) 8-3.

Schools represented at the tournament included Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cal State Northridge, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, Loyola Marymount, Cal State Bakersfield, Concordia, Cal State Los Angeles, Chapman University, Long Beach State.
